Norwegian Wood

After all that TV gabble I feel guilty so I'll drop a mention for the latest book I read, Norwegian Wood. It's set in and around Tokyo in the 70's and charts a couple of eventful years in the life of Toru Watanabe, and in particular his relationship with a girl called Naoko. It's just been made into a film (by the Japanese thank god), that has been soundtracked by Johnny Greenwood of Radiohead. I plan to watch it as soon as a viable stream becomes available, or it gets a release over here. The book is full of references to western culture, especially the music at the time, the book itself takes it's title from the Beatles song of the same name.
